• Airline Passenger Injuries
  
  Mr. Shapiro has defended major air carriers and New York area airports in dozens of actions filed by airline passengers for such diverse claims as fear of AIDS following bite by HIV-positive fellow traveler, cardiac arrest resulting from spill of hot coffee, closed head injuries caused by turbulence as well as by objects falling from overhead compartments, escalator malfunctions, false imprisonment, missed connections, slips and falls, and lost or damaged luggage.

Mr. Shapiro has successfully handled serious personal injury cases on behalf of domestic and foreign manufacturers of complex machinery such as lift trucks, industrial table saws and other large commercial woodworking machines, presses, cutters, and handheld tools such as circular saws, nails guns, and power hammers.

In addition to the types of actions described above, Mr. Shapiro has also handled matters as diverse as opposing writs of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court, appeals in New Jersey and New York state and federal appellate courts, automobile accident cases, insurance fraud actions on behalf of health and life insurers, and various commercial disputes.
